God says, "I enclosed the sea with doors, when, bursting forth, it went our from the womb; I made a cloud its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band, and I placed boundaries on it, and I set a bolt and doors, and I said, 'Thus far you shall come, but no farther; and here shall your proud waves stop.' I really like the juxtaposition of this passage with the photo. It suggests that one of the reasons we climb mountains or are drawn to the ocean is the encounter with some sort of boundary and perhaps in some way commune with what lies beyond. dh
For me the setting of the boundary by God acknowledges the ultimate authority He holds over all things. He is the creator, and all is of His making. "In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1
